Clear blown glass in the lily pad style of early New England and New Jersey glass factories. Considered the first truly American design in glass. 9.25" height, 4.75" diameter, chicken finial on lid, signed "EA90". One of the most challenging glass pieces to make have been pieces with lids. Getting lids to fit correctly is a combination of luck and skill. Many times it takes making multiple lids to get the correct fit. The style I like the most features the galleried rim. It was seen on Zanesville, Pittsburg, and Lily Pad versions of lidded bowls.

I sold a lot of these Midwestern style flasks to museum shops all over the U.S. 1985-2000. They are made in the style of glass made 1800-1850 in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I have 28 in stock in various colors. If you are looking for a particular color, send and email and I will send photos of what I have. This one is red, not a color normally made in the time period.

First Friday Artwalk this Friday August 1 at AR Collective gallery in Conway, AR. Part of this sculpture was found on the property of my wife’s ancestors who lived near Capitan, New Mexico. We had passed through the White Sands area on our way to Capitan. Eighty years ago on in a stretch of southern New Mexico desert called the Jornada del Muerto—the journey of death, the U.S. Army detonated the first atomic bomb. The bomb's aftermath later caused rare forms of cancer for over 30,000 people in the area of the White Sands Missile Base.
